Bellevue Resort Bohol Review: Is This Panglao’s Best 5-Star Luxury Stay?

When travelers imagine an island getaway in Bohol, the conversation usually leans toward the bustling tourist hub of Alona Beach. But if you are looking for true, uncompromised luxury away from the crowded nightlife and loud beach strips, The Bellevue Resort Bohol stands in a league of its own. As the only officially rated five-star resort in the area, this sweeping beachfront property on the peaceful shores of Doljo Beach delivers an exclusive sanctuary for families, couples, and discerning travelers.

I recently checked in to experience everything this luxury icon has to offer—from its ocean-facing infinity pool and world-class sports facilities to its culinary spots and pristine white-sand coastline.

Location & Vibe: The Peaceful Side of Panglao

What immediately distinguishes The Bellevue Resort Bohol from other luxury accommodations in Panglao is its location. Situated on Doljo Beach, it sits comfortably away from the commercial noise and heavy foot traffic of Alona.

The atmosphere is noticeably serene. You are greeted by sprawling tropical gardens, quiet ocean breezes, and a private stretch of white sand that feels like your own secluded paradise. Whether you are walking along the shore at low tide to spot starfish in the crystal-clear water or watching the sunset over the sea, the sense of privacy here is unmatched.

The Arrival & Dining at Flujo Cafe

Check-in was smooth and welcoming before I made my way to Room 228. But before diving into the full room tour, I headed down to the central lobby area to explore Flujo Cafe—the resort’s stylish coffee shop and snack bar overlooking the central koi pond.

It’s the ideal spot to start your stay with a single-shot espresso and a quick bite. I tried the recommended Reuben Sandwich—stuffed with corned beef and tangy sour cabbage on a perfectly toasted, crunchy bread. It’s a solid gourmet snack while taking in the open-air resort views.

The Accommodations: Room 228 Tour

Stepping into Room 228, the luxury classification is immediately obvious. The space is generous, elegantly furnished, and designed with subtle island touches.

  • The Living & Bedroom Area: Features a massive plush bed with an end-of-bed bench, a cozy sofa, and a dedicated workspace desk. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a welcoming fruit platter and fresh donuts.
  • The View: A private balcony opening up to a panoramic view of the central infinity pool, manicured gardens, and the open ocean.
  • The Luxury Bathroom: Equipped with a full soaking bathtub, a spacious separate rain shower, double sinks, and premium vanity amenities.

Whether you are visiting for a relaxing vacation, an island wedding, or business, the room provides every modern comfort—including an iron, in-room safe, hairdryer, and plush bathrobes.

Resort Facilities: From PS5s to Pickleball

One of the biggest surprises of The Bellevue Resort Bohol is the sheer density of activities available on site. You could easily spend three days here without ever needing to step outside the gates:

  • The Play Area & Game Room: A hit for both kids and adults, featuring the latest gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, arcade setups, and computer stations.
  • Active Sports: Beyond a fully equipped gym, the resort boasts an archery range, a volleyball area, and dedicated courts for Pickleball—the fastest-growing sport on the island.
  • Entertainment & Events: A massive outdoor screen plays live global sports events 24/7 by the pool, while spacious convention pavilions make it a premier venue for corporate team buildings and grand weddings.
  • Day-Use Pavilions: Bellevue also features newly built day-use oceanfront villas suitable for groups of up to 14 people—complete with private terraces and direct ladder access straight into the ocean.

Evening Vibes & The 6:00 AM Breakfast Buffet

As evening sets in, the resort lights up around the infinity pool. Rather than heading out to the commercial strips in town, sticking around the resort bar is a treat in itself. Draft beer on tap, live acoustic music, and a relaxed food menu—like their Cajun Chicken Wrap (₱490)—make for a laid-back night under the stars.

The culinary highlight, however, comes early in the morning. The resort’s breakfast buffet opens at 6:00 AM and is easily one of the best breakfast spreads in Bohol. Rather than sheer overwhelming quantity, Bellevue focuses on exceptional food quality:

  • Savory Hits: Crispy bacon, pork adobo, Cajun beef sausage, and lemon butter barramundi.
  • Filipino Classics: Ampalaya with eggs, Java fried rice, and comforting congee.
  • Live Stations: Made-to-order omelettes, freshly prepared Laksa noodle soup, and hot pancakes and French toast served with maple syrup and preserves.

Starting breakfast at 6:00 AM means catching dishes piping hot straight out of the kitchen, followed by an early morning dip in the calm, high-tide sea.

The Verdict: Is Bellevue Worth It?

At check-out, settling the bill for extras—espressos, two cold beers, the Reuben sandwich, and the Cajun wrap—came out to a very reasonable ₱1,620.

If there is one critique of The Bellevue Resort Bohol, it’s that a single-night stay simply isn’t enough. You barely scratch the surface of what the property offers. With its 5-star amenities, world-class service, pristine beach access, and peaceful atmosphere, it remains one of the finest overall resort experiences in the Philippines.
