Panglao, Bohol is known for its stunning white-sand beaches and relaxed island vibe. But what if you could combine that paradise setting with world-class, high-energy martial arts training? That’s exactly what’s happening at Tiger Muay Thai – Panglao, and they’ve just upped the ante.
A Legend from Phuket Arrives in Bohol
For anyone familiar with the world of combat sports, the name “Tiger Muay Thai” is legendary, synonymous with its famous training camp in Phuket, Thailand. The fact that they brought their expertise to a stunning, unique bamboo training facility here at South Palms Resort Panglao is incredible for the local fitness and martial arts scene.
It’s more than just a gym. From the moment you walk in, you feel a sense of positive energy. This isn’t an intimidating fight club; it’s a welcoming community where people from all walks of life—locals, tourists, beginners, and pros—come to reinvent themselves, get fit, and learn from highly skilled trainers in disciplines like Muay Thai, MMA, and Boxing.

The New Arena: From the Gym to the Sand
As great as the gym is, they are now taking full advantage of their paradise location with a new addition to their routine: early morning beach training sessions.
I had the chance to join and photograph one of these sessions yesterday, and it was epic. The morning starts with a run through Panglao, with the destination being the beautiful beachfront near Oceanica resort. The training then shifts to the sand, combining cardio and conditioning drills with the sound of the waves in the background. It’s a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience that connects you with both the sport and the stunning natural environment of Bohol.
This combination of intense indoor training at their state-of-the-art facility and raw, functional workouts on the beach is what sets them apart.

More Than Just a Workout
What I love most about the community at Tiger Muay Thai is that it’s genuinely for everyone. The beach training was tough but fun, and the social aspect is huge. It’s a fantastic activity for friends to do together and a great way to meet new people. You push your limits, but you do it with a group of supportive “good lads” who cheer you on.
If you’re in Bohol and looking for a way to stay fit that is anything but boring, I can’t recommend this enough. Whether you’re a seasoned martial artist or just looking to try something new and exciting, this is the place.
